Privacy statement

This statement covers the QueryBench application and the querybench.app website. QueryBench stores workspace data locally and connects to the databases you configure. Its account service processes licensing data, and the app sends diagnostics as described below.

The application

• QueryBench connects directly from your device to your databases. Queries and results are exchanged with the database servers you configure. The account service does not host your databases.
• Connection metadata is stored in your user configuration directory. Passwords, SSH passphrases and S3 credentials are stored in the operating-system credential store (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, Linux Secret Service, or the platform keychain on iOS and Android).
• Query history keeps the last 50 SQL statements locally and never stores results. Stash recovery data lives in application memory only and is cleared on exit.
• License activation and checks send license credentials, installation identifiers and device information to our account service. The service records checks, app usage, network IP addresses and approximate location when IP geolocation is enabled. Email sign-in processes your email address and one-time code; store purchases send purchase proofs for verification.
• The app uses Traceway for error and performance diagnostics. Error messages are sanitized to remove database values; session recording, console-log collection, network capture and navigation capture are disabled. There is no advertising SDK in the app.
• The desktop MCP server binds to loopback only and requires a bearer token. It is off until you turn it on.

This website

• The site is static and served from a content delivery network. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
• Server logs kept by the hosting provider may include your IP address and user agent for security and capacity purposes. We do not use them to identify you.
• Purchases are processed by our payment provider, which handles card details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and the license you bought so we can deliver and support it.

Email

When you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and honor refunds and license transfers. We do not add you to any mailing list without asking.

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your account after email sign-in, either in the mobile license screen or in the account portal. A confirmation dialog requires you to type delete me. See Delete your QueryBench account for instructions, what is removed, and the limited hashed security records retained to prevent deleted access from being restored. Database files and saved connections remain on your devices.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep for tax and accounting. Write to privacy@querybench.com.

Changes

If this statement changes, the date at the top is updated. Material changes are also noted in the release notes.
